Doris Cintron, 44

Lynn resident

Doris H. Cintron of Lynn died at the Life Care Center of the North Shore on September 17 after a long illness. She as 44 years old.

Before her illness, she worked in various factories.

Born in Agnadizla, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Osvaldo and Marcolina (Mercado) Cintron of Lynn; mother of three children, Jacqueline Soto and Elimarie Soto, both of Florida and Frank Soto Jr. of New York. She was the sister of Sonia Traida of Lynn, Luz Cintron of Manchester, NH, Midsotis Cintron, Osvaldo Cintron, Edgar Cintron and Coralina Cintron, all of Lynn and the beloved grandmother of three.

Private services were held in the Nadworny Funeral Home, 798 Western Avenue, Lynn. Burial will be in Puerto Rico.

 

Carol ‘Tootsie’ Wells, 70

Winthrop resident

Carol “Tootsie” (Westphal) Wells of Winthrop died at the Mass. General Hospital, Boston on September 11 after complications from pneumonia. She was 70 years old.

She was a former employee of Jeveli’s n East Boston, Building 19 and Winthrop/Revere Homemakers, Inc..

Born and raised in Winthrop, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Westphal and June (Gregory) Greenburg, both of Winthrop; the loving sister of Jeanette “Honey” Burroughs, Arthur “Kid” Westphal, Thomas “Westy” Westphal and the late Edward “Brother” Westphal, all of California; the devoted and loving mother of  the late John “J.D.” DePalma of East Boston, Theresa McIntosh of Beverly, Patricia Wells of Winthrop and Roy Wells of Winthrop; the adoring grandmother of Carole Wells of Winthrop, Michael Wells of Lynn and Jessica DePalma of East Boston. She also had one great grandchild, her “Little Darling” Carlin Brown of Winthrop. She will be greatly missed by all.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Wells and her son, John DePalma, was held at the Union Congregational Church, Winthrop. Funeral arrangements were by the CaggianoFuneral Home, Winthrop. To sign her online book of condolences go to www.caggianofuneralhome.com
