Carol Jones
Of Lynn, formerly of Revere
Carol A. (DeYeso) Jones of Lynn, formerly of Revere, died on October 15 following a valiant ten year battle with non-hodgkins lymphoma and leukemia. She was 65 years old.
The cherished mother of Brian M. Jones of Medford and Paul V. Sheehan and his wife, Jennifer, of Marshfield, she was the devoted grandmother of Katie M. and Colleen P. Sheehan and Devin P. Jones; dear sister of Edward DeYeso of Cocoa, FL and is also lovingly survived by her best friend, Paula Belcher of Lynn.
Funeral arrangements were by the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, Revere. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Rembrances may be made to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
Marion Gorski
Educator and Poet
Marion R. Gorski died peacefully at home on October 9 surrounded by her family. She was 97 years old.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Boleslaw and Rose (Brozozka) Wanelik and the wife of the late Edward C. Gorski.
She was a graduate of Bridgewater State College with a degree in education. She served 30 years in the Lynn Public School system, teaching all grades from Kindergarten through Junior High. After graduating college, she founded a night school for immigrants seeking U.S. citizenship.
She was an active member of several clubs which included the St. Michael’s Retirees Club, where she served as President and the Mass Federation of Polish Women’s Club where she was deemed “Poet Laureate.” A Trustee for 27 years for the Lynn Public Library, she was also a member of St. Michael’s Holy Rosary Sodality.
In her later years, Mrs. Gorski went on several religious pilgrimages to Europe and the Holy Land. In 1979 she met and was blessed by the newly-elected Pope John Paul II.
She leaves two sons, Raymond of Lynn, Donald and his wife, Kathleen, of Darien, CT, and a daughter, Loretta Gorski, of Lynn; a brother Stanley Wanelik of Lynn, and a sister Lucy Shappi of Riverside, CA; two grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah Gorski of Darien, CT and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Francine Peters, Amelia O’Brien and Walter and William Wanelik.

David Leva
Formerly of Arlington and Cambridge
David L. Leva, formerly of Arlington and Cambridge, died on October 9.
He was the son of the late Joseph and Nancy Leva; loving father of Bernadette Russo and her fiancé, Vital, of Lynn, Christina Russo of Everett, and David Russo of Chelsea; grandfather of Angelina and Thalia; brother of Rosemarie Dew of Florida and Tracey Carnevale of Everett.
