Thomas Strangie has been appointed the principal of English High School, Lynn Superintendent of Schools Catherine Latham has announced.

Latham was expected to appoint Strangie despite apparently looking for others who might fit the bill.

Strangie replaces Andrew Fila.

Fila retired two weeks ago after working for 45 years in the Lynn school system.

Strangie was elevated immediately and is now the principal of English High School.
