There was some good news for the Lynn English boys basketball team this week as the MIAA announced the Division 1 North finals will be held at the TD Garden in Boston.
This year’s Lynn English team, under the direction of head coach Buzzy Barton, certainly has a chance to get to the North finals and beyond, meaning it could play two games on the Celtics’ famed parquet floor.
Last year, Lynn English just missed getting to the Garden, but Coach Barton has built another championship caliber team, one capable of going all the way.
Certainly St. John’s Prep and Central Catholic will present strong challenges for Barton’s Bulldogs, but with outstanding players like Travonne Berry-Rogers, Keandre Stanton, Paradise Hogan, Josh Castillo and Corey McMillen, Lynn English could bring that elusive state championship back to Lynn.
