Tatiana’s Cooks up Laughs

Sullivan-Toomey will host comedy show Saturday night

Jeanne Sullivan-Toomey, who has been a professional comedian for two-and-half-years, will be hosting a comedy show this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Tatiana’s Restaurant, 70 Market St.

Sullivan Toomey hosted her first show on March 24 and intends to bring comedy shows to Tatiana’s two or three times a month.

“Our first show, headlined by Lynner Bob Seibel, was an evening filled with laughter,” said Sullivan-Tommey, daughter of retired Lynn Police Lt. Edward Sullivan and the late Gloria Sullivan.  “More than that, it was an opportunity for the performers, including myself, to give something back to their hometown of Lynn.”

Sullivan-Tommey said she was “thrilled” when the owner of Tatiana’s presented her with an opportunity to have a comedy room at the restaurant. Sullivan-Tommey will donate a portion of the proceeds from the shows to My Brother’s Table, a center located on Willow Street that serves free meals to local residents.

Steve Bjork, a polished veteran of the Boston comedy scene, will headline this Saturday’s show. Other performers will be Jeff Koen, star of the soon-to-be-released comedy, “Heavy Times,” and Mike Koutrobis, a comedian for more than 20 years.

(Tickets for the show are $15 and may be purchased at the door).
