Edith Alpert

Chelsea resident

Edith Alpert of Chelsea, formerly of Swampscott and Winthrop, died October 5.

She was the beloved wife of the late Abraham Alpert; devoted mother of Ronna Greif of Salem and mother-in-law of the late Harvey Greif; loving sister of Charles Gilman of Lynn and the late Arthur Gilman; cherished grandmother of Richard and Katherine Greif of Wakefield and great-grandmother of Noah and Luke Greif.

Graveside services were held at the Ahavas Achim Anshai Sfard Cemetery, Lynn. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be donated to the Alzheimers Foundation, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472. Arrangements were by the Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, Salem.

John Joseph Fleury

Of Whitman, formerly of Revere

John Joseph Fleury of Whitman, formerly of Revere, died suddenly on October 3 at Brockton Hospital. He was 64 years old.

A US Air Force Vietnam veteran, he worked for the US Coast Guard in Boston as a Civilian-Supervisor for the Department of Transportation. He was an avid bowler and belonged to two senior leagues.

Born and raised in Revere, he was the son of the late Oscar and Dorothy (Mastrorio);the beloved husband of 36 years of Sharon (Beaton); devoted father of Casey Winslow and her friend, Jeremy Marchetti; loving grandfather of Isabella and Victoria; loving son of the late Oscar and Dorothy (Mastrorio); dear brother of Linda Pucko and her husband, Tim of S. Carolina and is also survived by his brothers and sisters in law: Evelyn and Al Webber of Lynn, Dorothy Magidan of Hawaii, Laurence and Melinda Farrell of Lynn, Eileen and Harold Keating, Janet and Arthur McGovern, all of Swampscott, many loving nieces and nephews and his beloved pets.

Leo Martin Jr.

Lynn resident

Leo A. Martin, Jr. of Lynn died on October 3.

The husband of the late Helen M. (Burke) Martin and longtime companion of Joan Gavegnano of Revere, he was the father of Leo A. Martin III and his wife, Dorothy M. of Camden, So. Carolina, Robert F. Martin of Salem, NH and John T. Martin of Lynn; brother of James P. Martin and his wife, Virginia of Whippany, NJ and is also survived by seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
