Antonio Javier Syrakos

Music Lover, Outdoorsman and Hiker, Involved in Lynn Youth Soccer

Antonio Javier Syrakos of Lynn died unexpectedly on January 10 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He was 22 years old.

The son of Paul and Doris (Canatta) Syrakos of Lynn, he was born in Paraguay and was adopted by Paul and Doris when he was three years old. He was raised in Lynn and attended Shoemaker School, Pickering Junior High School and graduated from Lynn Classical High School, Class of 2009.

He was involved in the Lynn Youth Soccer Program was a great lover of music. He especially loved rap music and recorded several CDs in Boston. He enjoyed snowboarding and hiking, having recently hiked to the summit of Mt. Washington and has hiked extensively in the Lynn Woods. His goal was to completely hike the Appalachian Moutains. He was also fond of BMX bike riding.

Antonio enlisted in the US Army and served in Afghanistan. He was a member of Whiskey Company and was awarded several medals.

In addition to his parents, Paul and Doris (a second grade teacher at the Cobbett School in Lynn), he is survived by his sister, Katrina Syrakos, a student at Lynn Classical High School and his beloved husky dog, Lyrik. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the grandson of the late Josephine and Edward Canata and Antonio and Angelina Syrakos.

Rita Kenyon

Longtime Clerk at Western Avenue Pharmacy

Rita P. (Brault) Kenyon of Lynn died early Thursday morning in a local nursing home after a long illness.  She was 97 years old.

The beloved wife of the late Walter L. Kenyon, she was born in Auburn, the daughter of the late Napoleon and Amelia (Tessier) Brault, and was a resident of Lynn for most of her life.

Prior to her retirement in 1987, she worked as a clerk at the Western Avenue Pharmacy for more than 40 years.  She enjoyed playing cards on Saturday nights and traveling with “The Girls.”

Her family wishes to thank the staff of Peabody Glen Nursing Home and Care Alternatives Hospice for their never-ending compassion and care to Rita during her time with them.

She leaves her daughter, Patricia Kenyon of Peabody.  She was the sister of Edward Brault of San Francisco, CA, Lucile Letts of Naugatuck, CT, Teresa Brown of Lynn and the late Arthur, Leo, Raymond, Albert and Oliver Brault, Lorraine MacGillivary and Pauline Bradley.

Bruce Finkle

Of New Hampshire and Swampscott

Bruce N. Finkle of New Hampshire and Swampscott died recently.

He was the husband of Diane Finkle; son of Mildred and the late Samuel Finkle; father of Joanna Colls Finkle; stepfather of Joseph A. Foistner II, Esq and brother of Ellen (Finkle) Hubbard.

Arrangements were by Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, Salem.

Angelina Williams

Clerk at Former Rich’s Department Store

Angelina S. (Lima) Williams of Lynn died January 10 at Radius Health Care in Danvers. She was 87 years old.

Born and raised in Lynn, the daughter of the late Paul and Louise (Capozzi) Lima, she was a Clerk for Rich’s Department Store for several years until 1989.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Nancy Gauthier of Peabody, two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Richard M. Gauthier, her sisters and brother: Rose Roy, Florence Lima, Grace Lombardi and Arthur Lima.
