Sophia McKenney

Former St. Michael’s Church Communicant

Sophia C. (Golec) McKenney of Lynn died at a local nursing home after a brief illness on July 24. She was 94 years old.

Born in Bellows Falls, Vermont, the daughter of the late Stanley and Mattie “Pietras” Golec and the wife of the late Donald F. McKenney, she has lived in Lynn since 1937. She was a former communicant of St. Michael’s Church and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, John S. McKenney and one daughter, Donna L. Barber, both of Lynn, one brother, Ralph Golec of New Hampshire, 17 grandchildren: John, Donald, Tommy, Richard, Michael and Joseph McKenney, John, Anthony, Jodi and Andrea Wilson and Thomas, Joseph, Shannon and Stephen O’Shea, Tracy, William Barber and Don Galanty; 12 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Mary A. Wilson and Frances A. O’Shea and sister of the late Joseph, Peter, Bernard and Frankie, Lillian Golec and Agnes Zielinski.   She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service in the Nadworny Funeral Home, 798 Western Avenue, Lynn, today, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Directions and guest book at:

Gloria Patti

Of Nahant, formerly of Lynn

Gloria G. (Clark) Patti of Nahant, formerly of Lynn, died at a local nursing home on July 24 after a brief illness. She was 92 years old.

Born in Medford, the daughter of the late George and Marie (McDonough) Clark and the wife of the late Louis E. Baxter and Anthony C. Patti, she is survived by one daughter, Diane M. Porcaro of Nahant and two sons in law, Ben Pocaro and Joseph Zampanti, both of Florida. She was the loving grandmother of three granddaughters, Roxanne and her husband, Michael Schena, Jessica Porcaro and Alexis and her husband, Aaron Bascom. She also leaves four sisters: Jackie Ferragamo of Beverly, Marilyn Melanson of Chelmsford, Elaine Cassidy and Patricia Trombley, both of Florida. She was the sister of the late Vincent, John, William and George Clark and Frances Groom. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren, Isaiah Skye, Xaviah, Faith, Noah, Staar, Mia and Ella and by several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services were by the Nadworny Funeral Home, 798 Western Avenue, Lynn. Burial was in the Woodlawn Mausoleum, Everett. For guest book:
