Today, Tuesday, Sept. 17, is a very important day for the future of the city of Lynn.
Residents will head to the polls for the primary election for Mayor, City Council, and School Committee, but also to determine whether to build a brand new Thurgood Marshall Middle School.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Catherine Latham has expressed to residents how important a “Yes” vote is for the future of this city and its schools and we couldn’t agree more with the leader of our schools.
Latham has worked tirelessly on this project since taking office and is excited about today’s vote and the positive impact a new school would have on schoolchildren, their parents, and residents.
Let’s picture a gleaming, state-of-the-art middle school in our future, a building that the whole city can be proud of for years to come. The building would provide a big boost to not only the academic aspect of student life, but for extracurricular activities and athletics as well.
We urge residents to vote in favor of the construction of a new Marshall Middle School.
