Claire Gagnon
Retired Head Administrative Clerk for Mass Office of Secretary of State
Claire M. Gagnon, a lifelong Lynn resident, died after a long illness. She was 93 years old.
Born in Lynn, the daughter of the late John N. and Yvonne (Labrie) Gagnon, she was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1938, and attended Burdett College. Claire worked as the head administrative clerk for the Office of the Secretary of State for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 46 years until her retirement in 1989. She was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Lynnfield, enjoyed gardening, walking, skiing, playing tennis and golf. She was an avid Boston sports fan, and enjoyed listening to news talk radio to keep up with current events. She also enjoyed time spent with her family.
She is survived by her sister, May A. Miles of Lynn, her sister-in-law, Genevieve Gagnon of Lynn and by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. She was the sister of the late Arthur J. and Robert G. Gagnon.
Funeral arrangements were by the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, Lynn. Burial was in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. For guestbook, visit: www.solimine.com
