Lynn residents will have three chances to celebrate and thank their veterans for their service this week, as a trio of events is planned in honor of Veterans day, next Monday, November 11, 2013.
The first Veterans related event is the Marine ROTC dinner and presentation at Lynn English High School on Thursday, November 7 beginning at 6 p.m. This event serves the dual purpose of celebrating the Marine Corps birthday and will feature members of the Lynn English Marine Corps ROTC sponsoring local veterans and honoring them following the dinner at Lynn English.
On Saturday, November 9, at 11 a.m. a Veterans Ceremony will be held at High Rock Park in Lynn, with representatives of the local veterans organizations forming up at the park to honor our veterans.
Also on Saturday, beginning at 6 p.m., Building Bridges Through Music will sponsor a Veterans day Coffee House Celebration at the Lynn Arts Building at 25 Exchange Street. This event includes a cover charge of $15, which covers music, dancing, beverages and light fare, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Toys for Tots program in Lynn.
Finally, Lynn’s official Veterans Day ceremony will be held on Monday, November 11 at 12:30 p.m. at the Life Care Center of the North Shore located at 111 Birch Street in Lynn.
The annual official Veterans day remembrance will feature representatives of Lynn’s veteran organizations and a keynote speaker, as city officials gather to pay their respect to Lynn’s Veterans.
