Congratulations to the Harry Agganis Foundation on another successful Agganis Week.
The Foundation presented 19 scholarships worth a total of $65,000, bringing the overall total to $1,627,000 in scholarships to 897 student-athletes since 1955.
Agganis Week has become the premier sports extravaganza for graduating seniors in this region. It’s the last opportunity for many of the athletes to compete alongside their high school teammates and represent their school in a team sport.
We congratulate Agganis Games executive director Paul Halloran and the entire Agganis Foundation board of directors for not only keeping the tradition of Harry Agganis in the spotlight, but associating such a prestigious and excellent event with this legendary Lynn athlete.
We look forward to next year’s Agganis Games and we know that incoming seniors such as Revere softball pitcher Sabrina Palermo, who led her team to the Division 1 state semifinals, is already looking forward to taking the mound in the Agganis Softball Classic.
And that’s what the makes the Agganis Week so special for area athletes and their families and friends.
