Barbara Regan
Of Milton, formerly of Lynn
Barbara J. (Maguire) Regan of Milton, formerly of Lynn, passed away in the presence of her entire family at Massachusetts General Hospital on November 15 in the presence of her entire family.
Barbara was a native of Lynn and a proud graduate of St. Mary’s High School. She was a retiree of the MA Water Resources Authority and previously worked at the Suffolk County Extension Service, where she met her friend Judy Romaine. She was a member of St. Agatha’s Choir for many years. Most recently she was a volunteer at the Milton Hospital Blood Lab, enjoying the experience with Mary Maloney, the Director. In their retirement, the Regans enjoyed many trips to Italy with the A.F.C. Famiglias, cruises to the Caribbean, recent cruises to British Columbia with cousin Denise Maguire, and in September completed a cruise on the Danube River. In 2008 the Regans moved to Pine Tree Brook in Milton, where they enjoyed the camaraderie and positive endearment of their community.
She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Cox) Maguire; the devoted wife to Matthew C. Regan, Jr. for 53 years; the mother of Matthew III (Deidre), Gail Simeone (William), Tina Harrington (Joe), all of Milton, and Barbara J. Shaver (Bill) of Virginia; grandmother to 12 wonderful grandchildren; sister to Mary Fabiano (Richie) of Virginia and Florida, Dennis Maguire (Lillian) of Peabody, Jimmy Maguire (Susan) of New Hampshire and the late John Maguire; sister-in-law to Barbara G. Maher of Stoughton, Donna Maguire of Lynn and Lorraine Maguire of New Hampshire and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agatha Church, Milton, today, Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to A.F.C. Famiglias, 14 Joseph Rd., Revere, MA 02151, att: Andy Iovanna or St. Rock Haiti Foundation, P.O. Box 511, Milton, MA 02186 would be appreciated, or to the charity of your choice.
