With the departure of winter and the arrival of spring last month, another season also came to Lynn – Election Season in city politics.
According to the city’s elections webpage, March 23 was the first day that nomination papers could be taken out by prospective candidates.
With that news here are several other important dates to bear in mind this Election Season.
Friday, June 26 at 4 p.m. is the last day and hour to take out nomination papers in Lynn.
Monday, June 29 at 4 p.m. is the last day and hour to submit nomination papers for the fall Preliminary Election.
Tuesday, July 28 is the last day for nomination papers to be certified for the ballot.
Thursday, July 30 is the day to withdraw nomination papers and remove a candidate from the Preliminary Election ballot.
Thursday, August 6 at 10 a.m. is the drawing for ballot positions in the Preliminary Election.
Wednesday, August 12 is the last day to register to vote on the Preliminary Election.
Tuesday, September 1 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. is Preliminary Election Day.
Tuesday, September 8 at 5 p.m. is the last day and hour to request a recount of the Preliminary Election results.
Thursday, September 10 at 10 a.m. is the drawing for ballot positions in the General Election.
Wednesday, October 14 at 4 p.m. is the last day and hour to register to vote in the General Election.
Tuesday, November 3 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. is General Election Day.
Friday, November 13 at 4 p.m. is the last day and hour to request a recount in the General Election.
