The short ceremony included musical performances by the Lynn Public Schools Band and a Drill Presentation by the Lyn marine Corps Junior ROTC program.

However, that is just the start, with three other events planned between now and Monday, Memorial Day, with all of the events designed to ensure that Lynn residents remember the sacrifices of our country’s and our city’s fighting men and women.

Tonight, Wednesday, May 20 at 6 p.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery, volunteers and veterans will join together to help decorate the graves of the war dead buried at Pine Grove. Those wishing to assist with the decorating of the graves should meet at the foot of the World War I section of the cemetery at 5:45 p.m.

Then on Monday, May 25, the official observation day of Memorial Day 2015, Lynn’s Polish Legion of American Veterans (PLAV) Post 56 & Auxiliary will host a Memorial Day service at 10 a.m. at Breed Square.

The PLAV service will be followed by a Memorial Day Parade from North Shore Community College (NSCC) Lynn Campus and ending at Pine Grove Cemetery.
