The City of Lynn held its Inaugural Exercises Jan. 4 at the Lynn City Hall and Memorial Auditorium.
The Honorable Justice James Lamothe of Lynn District City administered the oaths of office to the newly elected members of the Lynn City Council and Lynn School Committee.
Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy, who is beginning the third year of her second term in office, congratulated the city officials in her address to the gathering. Kennedy has presided over the city’s resurgence and said she is looking forward to working with city officials and local groups to continue the progress that Lynn has made during her administration.
The councillors inaugurated were Gordon “Buzzy” Barton, Danile F Cahill, Peter L. Capano, Dianna M. Chakoutis, Richard C. Colucci, Darren P. Cyr, Brian P. LaPierre, Wayne A. Lozzi, Hong L. Net, William R. Trahant Jr,, and John Walsh Jr.
The members of the School Committee taking their oaths of office were: Patricia M. Capano, Maria O. Carrasco, Donna M. Coppola, John E. Ford Jr., Lorraine N. Gately, and Jared C. Nicholson.
Daniel Cahill served as the master of ceremonies for the program.
