Jean Boudrow Hardwick Hansen

Telephone company retiree and Winthrop Elks member

Jean Boudrow Hardwick Hansen died on March 8 after suffering several years with dementia.

She was born in East Boston on March 5, 1936 and lived most of her life in Winthrop. She died in Franklin, TN where she has lived since 2010 to be near her children.

Jean worked for the phone company in Boston for 35 years and was a member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks and also of Lodge 72 in Franklin, TN, where she was a fan of karaoke. She was known for her rendition of MY WAY and sang it one last time at her 80th birthday party given by her family.

She leaves behind her family: Joni and Lance Maliszewski of Franklin, TN, Jill Stevens of Brentwood, TN, and June and Arty Broyles of Thompson Station, TN, as well as four grandchildren: Alison and her husband, Noah Brooks, Dana and her husband, Micah McGowan, Shelby Stevens and Austin Broyles. She also leaves her brothers: Alvin and Kenneth Boudrow and her sister Carol Fitzgerald, all of Winthrop. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Alice and Philip Boudrow, her twin brother, John Boudrow, her former husband, James Hardwick and her husband, Robert Hansen. She also leaves  many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service will be held in Winthrop at a later date.
