The Bent Water Brewing, Co., located at 180 Commercial Street, celebrated their grand opening on May 21, with a ribbon cutting ceremony and outdoor party that included a barbeque and live music. Hundreds of friends, neighbors, and elected officials enjoyed the festivities and were excited to sample four debuting beers: Blast Off, Brewers’ Bomb, X-Series 007, and Lynn Light in a can.

“The City of Lynn has been incredible to Bent Water. Early on, they supported the concept,” said Aaron Reames, Founder. “There have been so many individuals who have helped us get to this point. Thank you for helping our team of founders. We truly appreciate the support of the community. Please come to our tap room often and spread the love.”

Reames, along with co-owners, John Erickstron, Head Brewer; Chris Crawford, Head of Sales; and Mike Shaughnessy, Marketing Director, have been working on this micro-brewing project for eight years. They are proud of their dedicated team of 14 employees.

“I am happy they have called Lynn their home,” said Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy. “We have been trying hard to work on a creative economy here in Lynn, and we welcome the creation of the craft beer profession.”

The Bent Water team is astounded by how far they have come in three and a half months. In mid-August 2015, the founders were standing on a dirt floor in a steel frame; and on Nov. 16, they brewed their first batch of beer.

“The number one example of economic revitalization in this area is Bent Water in downtown Lynn,” said Congressman Seth Moulton. “It’s great beer.”
