Lynn English JRROTC and Youth Football Stars Honored

The City Council took a few moments on Monday night to recognize some of the city’s hardest working youth, as 32 members of the Lynn English Marine Junior ROTC program were recognized by the Council during a brief ceremony prior to the start of the Council meeting.

According to Councilor Buzzy Barton, the Lynn English Marine Reserve Officers Training Corps recently was named National Champions at the Junior ROTC Olympiad in Florida.

The 32 members of the English Jr. ROTC squad were honored at City Hall at 7 p.m. on Monday night.

After the meeting got started Councilor Brian LaPierre also took a moment to introduce his colleagues to two fourth graders from the Sisson School, who in May took part in the All American Youth Football Tournament in Virginia, as part of a regional team.

Fourth graders Francisco Morales Jr. and Jhandel German were issued citations for their representation of Lynn at the National Tournament.
