NSCC to Offer Evening Cosmetology Program

Interested in a career in cosmetology?  No need to wait until September to enroll in North Shore Community College’s (NSCC) Cosmetology program.  Starting January 3, 2017, NSCC will begin offering an evening Cosmetology program.

The evening program will cover the same intensive classroom and hands-on training as the day program, but with the added convenience of afternoon/ evening classes; only 4 sessions per week, M-TH; and small class size (limited to 12 students).

Classes will run continuously and through the summer in the evening program, from January through November.

Both the day and evening Cosmetology programs are 1000 clock-hour programs approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Cosmetology.  Graduates will be prepared to pass the State Board Examinations, obtain an operator’s license and be eligible to work in a salon.

According to the US Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of . . .cosmetologists is projected to grow 10 percent from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations.

“The evening program will provide an excellent option for those students wanting to pursue a career in cosmetology but who are unable to attend day classes,” said Eric Frauwirth, Dean of Career and Technical Education.”

NSCC’s Cosmetology program is offered at the North Shore Business Center located at 30 Log Bridge Road in Middleton. Applications for both the day and evening programs are now being accepted.  For more information on the Cosmetology program, contact Kathy Champlain, Cosmetology Program Coordinator, at [email protected] or at 978-762-4000, x1517.
