Melvin John Morrison, Jr.
Retired Core Director of Westborough State Hospital
Melvin John “Boston Mel’ Morrison, Jr. of Silver Springs, Florida, formerly of Lynn, passed away February 19. He was 73 years old.
Born in Boston he moved to the Florida area 13 years ago from Lynn. He was the retired Core Director for the Westborough State Hospital in Massachusetts and Catholic by faith. Mal enjoyed Doo Wop Music and was an avid fan of all New England sports teams.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary; his children, Kathleen Mary Hutchinson of West Brookfield, MA, Melvin John Morrison, III (Teresa) of Glouster, VA, Thomas
William Morrison and Melissa Ann Tillinghast, both of Silver Springs, Florida and Nancy-Lee Morrison of Ashville, NC; three sisters, two brothers, 12 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Mel’s Life was held at Baldwin Brothers’ Heritage Chapel located at 954 E. Silver Springs Blvd. Ocala on February 25. A Celebration of His Life in Lynn, will be held at a later date to be determined.
