Lynn English Director of Athletics Dick Newton announced the appointment of two new head coaches Tuesday.
Lynn Youth Hockey President Brian Boisson has been appointed the Lynn Jets ice hockey coach. while former Lynn English swimming standout Michelle Kurkul has been named the Lynn English swim coach.
Boisson has been the diligent leader of the Lynn Youth Hockey organization, taking on multiple administrative roles to keep the program advancing steadily during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Boisson should be a perfect fit as the head coach of the Jets, as most of the players have skated under the banner of Lynn Youth Hockey. The Jets are a co-op team that consists of athletes from Lynn Classical, Lynn English, and Lynn Tech.
Kurkul was the Lynn Swimmer of the Year during her spectacular career in the Lynn English swimming program. An excellent student, Kurkul went on to become a member of the Williams College swim team.
“We’re excited to welcome these two outstanding individuals to our athletic program,” said Newton.
