Thomas Donahue

Thomas D. Donahue, 66, of Lynn passed away at home on November 30 surrounded by his loving family.

Tom was born in Boston on December 23, 1954, grew up in Winthrop and graduated from Winthrop High School in 1972. He went on to attend Mass Maritime Academy graduating in 1976. After graduation, he started his career in the Merchant Marines where he worked as an engineer on oil tankers. In 1985, Tom went to work for Mass Electric (now National Grid), retiring in 2018 after a 36 year career.

In addition to his work, Tom enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially loved fishing, camping and boating with his two boys.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Anne Donahue, his father, Robert Donahue and his brother, Paul Donahue. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Diane Andros Donahue and his sons, Thomas Donahue Jr. and James Donahue. He also leaves behind his siblings: Linda Donahue, Robert Donahue Jr., Ann Donahue, Sean Donahue, Carol Benson and her husband, Harry, Maureen DelSolio and her husband, John, Mary Page and her husband, Chris, as well as many nieces nephews and friends.

Services were held on December 4 at Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, Lynn. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s name can be made to Care Dimensions Hospice 75 Sylvan St. Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
