Coppola announces candidacy for Ward 4 City Council

Donna Coppola has announced her candidacy for Ward 4 City Council. She is currently serving her 12th term on the Lynn School Committee as Vice Chairperson. She serves on finance, personnel, buildings and grounds and DEI subcommittees. Her years of experience, knowledge and advocacy of citywide issues, budget and policy will bring a strong commitment to supporting the citizens of ward 4.  Donna’s strength in advocating will allow her to start on day 1 working for the ward 4 peoples seat. When elected, monthly meet and greets in the ward will be available.

Donna is married to Harry and is the mother of 4 children and grandmother to 7 grandchildren. She is a graduate of North Shore Community College and University of Massachusetts in Boston. She is employed as a Case Manager at Joi Child Care Center where she supports the teen parent program. Donna is also on the board of My Brothers Table, Lynn Democratic City Committee, UAW 1596 steward, member of Friends of Lynn and Nahant Beach and is a member of Austin Square Baptist Church where she serves on the ladies supper committee.

Some of the concerns people have shared with her are taxes, infrastructure, parking, housing, jobs, transportation, crime and cleanliness of our streets.

Additionally, Donna would like to develop long term goals of bringing in businesses to help improve the tax base and provide good paying jobs for Lynn citizens. As well as work on creative ways to solve the space issues in our schools and work on new schools for our 17,000 students.
