Gene Arthur Carter

Longtime Chelsea resident

Gene Arthur Carter died on September 16.

Born and raised in Chelsea, he was the beloved son of Charlene Carter and the late Gene A. Carter. He spent his childhood and most of his life living in Chelsea and was educated in the local public schools. After high school, he began working in the construction field. He enjoyed playing basketball and loved to go fishing with his sons.

He was the devoted father of Lesha, Gene, Jovan and Devon and a special friend to Nicky; the dear brother of Susan, Lisa, Gregory and the late Michael Carter and is also survived by his grandchildren, Shanelle, Jordan, Bliss, Vanessa and Myah. He was the uncle of Erik, Kairee, Justin, Stephon, Soleil, Natalia and the great-uncle to Mya and Isabella.

The family will receive visitors at the Frank A. Welsh & Son’s Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea on Friday, October 2 beginning at 7 p.m. A Memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend.

 

Arthur J. Caissie Sr.

Shipyard foreman

Arthur J. Caissie Sr. of Danvers, formerly of Chelsea, died on September 21.

A US Army veteran of World War II and a retired shipyard foreman, he was the beloved husband of the late Louise M. (Robichaud) Caissie; devoted father of Arthur J. Caissie Jr. and his wife, Sheila, of Danvers, June C. Ells and her husband, William, of Rutland, Denise M. Rescigno of Lynn, Debra A. LaMontgane and her late husband, Thomas, of Revere; cherished grandfather of Kristen and Brian Ells of Rutland, Joseph Caissie and his wife, Brandy, of Illinois and Anna-Louise Rescigno of Lynn, adored great grandfather of Kaia Caissie. He was the dear brother of the late Joseph, Edward, and Wilfred Caissie, Rose Doran, Helen Arsenault and Mary Allen.

Funeral arrangements were by the Frank A. Welsh & Son’s Funeral Home, Chelsea. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

 

David MacDonald, 49

Educator

David R. MacDonald of Lynn, formerly of Revere, died unexpectedly on September 19. He was 49 years old.

A lifelong native of Revere until moving to Lynn in 2003, he was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1977 and a graduate of Salem State Teachers’ College. He began teaching in the Revre Elementary School System in 1989 and, for the past 16 years, he was an elementary teacher in the Boston School System at the Channing School of Hyde Park. He was a member of the American Federation of Teachers.

He was the cherished father of Kendall M. and Kaitlin E. MacDonald of Revere; devoted son of Gloria (DeLena) MacDonald of Lynn and the late Frank “Mac” MacDonald; dear brother of Steven R. MacDonald, a teacher at Revere High School, and his wife, Wendy, of Lynn and US Army Lt. Col. Charles R. MacDonald and his wife, Stephanie, of Ft. Monroe, VA. He is also lovingly survived by his former wife, Karen M. (DiSciscio) MacDonald of Revere and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the beloved uncle of Meredith N. MacDonald of Lynn, Nicholas and Elizabeth MacDonald of Ft. Monroe, VA.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Vertuccio Home for Funerals, Revere. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to your favorite charity.
