Celebration of Art Fiste’s life to air on Lynn television

Cable television broadcaster John Hoffman will host “A Celebration of Arthur Fiste’s Life” television show on Feb. 1 at 4:30 p.m. at the Lynn English High School library.

Mr. Fiste, a former basketball coach, teacher, and member of the Lynn School Committee, died on Jan. 12, 2010. He was 72.

“We’re inviting people to talk about Arthur Fiste’s coaching and teaching career and his time in Lynn politics,” said Hoffman. “We want people to share some of the stories and remembrances they have of this wonderful man.”

Hoffman said the reason the English library is being used as the venue for the show is “the library is the site of the old gym and that where’s Arthur coached and played his basketball games and we felt it was appropriate to have the show broadcast from the library.”

The show will be aired in February on Lynn cable television Channels 15 and 36.
