It is easier said than done – that is – turning around the failing Harrington and Connery Schools.
The teachers haven’t failed.
It is the leadership that has failed.
We urge the superintendent of schools to come out of the box in searching for solutions to this chronic and nagging problem.
If she tries to correct the situation using only what is known locally, the schools will not move ahead.
They will fall further behind.
The superintendent has her work cut out to turn these schools around.
We wish her the best.
