Richard Milward

Union Hospital Chef

Richard W. Milward of Chelsea, formerly of Lynn, died suddenly at home on October 13. He was 54 years old.

A US Air Force Vietnam veteran, he was educated in the Lynn Public School System and was a chef at the Union Hospital. He formerly worked at the Holiday Inn and Artie’s in Peabody.

He was the son of Marilyn N (Lord) and her husband, John R. Plourde Sr. of Lynn and the late Donald C. Milward. He is survived by one brother, Ernest C. and his wife, Stephanie Milward of South Dennis and was the brother of the late Donald J. Milward, brother in law of Shirley Milward of Danvers and the brother of Joanne and her husband, Michael Cannady of Panama City, Florida. He is also survived by two aunts, Claire Milward of Lynn and Vilma Leonard of Prescott, Arizona;  the uncle of Brandon C. and Nicholas E. Milward and Kayla Ann Milward, all of South Dennis; Stacey A. Ludwig of Beverly and Shana and Linzy, both of Panama City, Florida.

Marie Walsh

Old Charlestown Schoolgirls Association Secretary,

Former Kennedy Center receptionist

Marie (Flynn) Walsh of Charlestown died on October 12.

She was the Secretary of the Old Charlestown Schoolgirl’s Association, former receptionist at the Kennedy Center and a US Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

She was the beloved wife of the late James L. Walsh; devoted mother of Marie B. Walsh of Charlestown, and Erin Walsh Palmer of Peabody; grandmother of David Palmer of Lynn, Colleen DiBono of Salem, Shannon Palmer of Charlestown, and James Palmer of Lynn; sister of Irene Mullaley of Charlestown and the late Claire Keady. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were by the John H. Sawyer Funeral Home, Charlestown. Burial was in the Mass National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in her name may be made to the Old Charlestown Schoolgirl’s Assoc., P.O. Box 276, Charlestown, MA, 02129.

Jacqueline Morrill Peacock

Of Minnesota, formerly of Lynn and Swampscott

Jacqueline Morrill Peacock of St. Paul, Minnesota, formerly of Swampscott and Lynn, died peacefully on October 7 after a 14 year struggle with Altzheimers Disease. She was 89 years old.

Mrs. Peacock grew up in Lynn.

Sister Mary Gill, SND

Of Everett

Sister Mary T. Gill SND (Sr. John Mary) of Everett, formerly of Dorchester died on October 11.

Sr. Mary was a graduate of Cardinal Cushing H.S. in South Boston, Emmanuel College in Boston and Salem State University, Salem. Her ministries included those in South Boston, Waltham, Lynn, Braintree, Newton and Woburn,

She was the beloved daughter of the late John and Mary (Faherty) Gill; sister of the late John and Joseph Gill; sister in law of Barbara Horton and Connie Gill. Sr. Mary is also survived by her nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, her Sisters in her Religious Community and her dear friend Sr. Patricia Butler, SND.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Keaney Funeral Home, Dorchester. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury. Donations in her memory may be made to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, 351 Broadway, Everett, MA 02149.
