The Aquasino Casino Boat, which has just completed a successful inaugural summer season, is back at sea this week, after being cleared to once again carry passengers last week, just three weeks after being forced into dock to make repairs, following an underwater collision.
The ship went in for repairs in September after a collision in Lynn Harbor that an Aquasino representative said may have involved a sunken car. The accident caused $200,000 worth of damages that included damage to one of ship’s gear shafts. It also resulted in an economic slowdown after the boat was sidelined following what the representative called a successful summer season.
However, beginning last Friday, October 11, the ship set sail again and will continue to run two trips per day Thursdays through Saturdays and one trip on Sundays through the fall and into the winter, weather permitting.
The new Fall/Winter schedule includes Thursday, Friday and Saturday trips at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday trips at 11 a.m. The earlier trips offer discounts for Senior Citizens, along with over 200 slots, 18 table games and no-limit poker. The boat is also launching “the only legal” SportsBook in the area.
Aquasino captain, Jim Walsh, said he expects to be running trips through December, but cautions that customers should call ahead to make sure there are no weather problems preventing the boat from going out.
