Get out and Vote on Nov. 5

One of the most exciting mayoral elections in Lynn history will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5 when voters head to the polls to determine who will be the city’s chief executive for the next four years.

It’s a classic political battle: incumbent Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy versus City Council President Tim Phelan.

The candidates have engaged in a series of debates where they have expressed eloquently their differing styles of leadership and visions for the city’s future. They have run professional campaigns and been visible at events large and small throughout the city.

We are fortunate to have two outstanding candidates for Mayor, the city’s highest elected office and a position of prestige and importance and one in which an individual can truly make a difference in the daily lives of Lynn residents.

The candidates for Councilor-at-Large, Ward Councilor, and School Committee have also been working hard to deliver their message to the Lynn electorate. There is a good mix of incumbents and newcomers on the ballot, so Lynn voters have an important decision to make in these elections as well.

Lynn residents have always enjoyed Election Day. We hope that all voters will get to the polls on Nov. 5 and cast their ballots.
