Regina Fareau

Retired College Administrative Assistant, Active in Haitian Community

Regina (Beauboeuf) Fareau of Lynn, born on April 7, 1924 in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, died recently.

The first child born to the late Marc and Elvire (Valles) Beauboeuf, she married Gerard Fareau in 1947 and pursued her education in teaching and administration. She briefly moved to Africa in 1967 and, in 1971, the family migrated to the United States where she continued her dedicated service as an Administrative Assistant at Tufts University and at Roxbury Community College until her retirememt in 1988.

She was a long time resident of the Lynn community and attended both Sacred Heart and St. Mary’s Church. She proudly participated in assisting residents of her Haitian community by volunteering at the Haitian Thrift Store.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gerard Fareau in Novenber of 1989 and she leaves behind her children: Jean-Robert, Gerard Jr., Leslie Fareau and his companion, Linda Autry; her granddaughters, Staci Larkin Kim Fareau, Katrise Dillan and Carmen Fareau; four sisters, Janine Mauze, Marie-Therese Beauboeuf, Solange Trudat and Yvonne Desmangles as well as her brothers, Fritz, Roger and Pierre Beauboeuf; five great grandchildren, several sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, Godchildren and a host of friends. She was the sister of the late Emmanuel and Jean Beauboeuf.

She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
