Thank you for a successful sunset cruise
To the editor:
On behalf of the Downtown Lynn Cultural District and the Lynn Museum/LynnArts organization, we want to thank the more than 200 citizens who joined us for our sunset cruise on the Lynn-Boston Commuter Ferry on Friday, July 24th. We are so appreciative to EDIC Lynn and Boston Harbor Cruises for their generosity in making the admission complimentary for those who attended.
It was a delight to see so many neighbors, business owners, and local officials join us for this family-friendly outing. Many of the attendees commented that it was their first time on the ferry and that they hoped future excursions would be planned. Indeed, we’ve heard many local residents express a desire to use the ferry, but who are not among the population who uses the service to get to and from work in Boston.
The Friday evening ferry, in particular, offers an affordable, family-friendly opportunity to travel to and from the Blossom Street landing in just under 90 minutes. Even if you do not disembark at Boston, you enjoy an extremely pleasant outing on the Atlantic with terrific local music and reasonably priced concessions. Round-trip tickets are $14 for adults, $7 for seniors and children ages 3-12, free for children under 3. MBTA passes for Zone 2 and higher are accepted.
We encourage you to experience this wonderful new mode of transportation to and from Boston, and we hope to announce soon a date for a second sunset cruise before this summer ends.
But, please, don’t wait on us! Try it for yourself this coming Friday night or any weekday evening. The boat boards at 6:15PM and returns by 7:50PM, perfectly timed for you to make a dinner reservation at one of our downtown restaurants.
