The Sponsors of Mass Save Announce Nine New Community First Partnership Awardees

The Sponsors of Mass Save® are pleased to announce nine new Community First Partners, consisting of 23 municipalities and four community-based organizations (CBOs), that have been selected to participate in the 2023-2024 Mass Save Community First Partnership.  Further expanding the Sponsors’ efforts to deliver equitable access to a clean energy future for all customers, these new participants join 28 municipalities and four community-based organizations already participating in the Partnership.

The Partnership provides recipients with funding up to $60,000 to expand outreach and increase energy efficiency participation in Environmental Justice Communities where historically, energy burdens are disproportionately high.

Working with their local Mass Save Sponsor(s), this second cohort of participating municipalities and CBOs will receive comprehensive training in energy efficiency offerings, including residential and small business weatherization, heating and cooling upgrades, and multilingual marketing materials. This ongoing support enables more robust outreach to renters and landlords, non-English speaking/limited English proficiency residents, low-to-moderate income households, and small businesses.

“Ensuring all residents have equitable access to our nation-leading energy efficiency solutions is a top priority for the Mass Save Sponsors.” said Eversource Director of Residential Energy Efficiency, Kate Peters. “We are thrilled to have more than two dozen new municipalities and community-based organizations this year to build on the efforts already taking place in 28 communities across the state. Working with these communities and organizations is an important step in ensuring that together we’re building a clean energy future inclusive of all residents in Massachusetts.”

Selected Community Based Organizations:

Berkshire Regional Planning Commission

Cape Verdean Association

Clean Water Action

Vineyard Power

The Community First Partnership, now in its second year, delivered more than $500,000 to support communities in 2022 and 2023.
