Police make arrest in Aug. 17 robbery

Lynn police this week reported the arrest of a 32 year-old Brighton man in connection with an armed convenience store robbery on August 17 at the Crown Variety on Lewis Street.

According to the report, the 61-year old male clerk was allegedly robbed by Michael Sullivan, who was captured on video, as he told the clerk to put money in a brown bag and motioned to his pants to indicate that he was carrying a weapon.

Though Sullivan did not show a weapon, the clerk feared for his life and placed an unknown amount of money into the brown paper bag, after which Sullivan allegedly fled the scene.

The video showed the robbery and provided officers with a clothing description, including a distinctive pair of sneakers worn by the alleged suspect.
