Joncarlos Perez

2011 graduate of Peabody High School

Joncarlos Perez of Peabody died on June 11 as a result of a car accident while on vacation in the Dominican Republic. He was 18 years old.

An avid student of mixed-martial arts at Dragon Within Mixed Martial Arts in Salem, he leaves behind an incredible group of devoted friends.

Born in Salem, he was a recent graduate of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School where he was an accomplished athlete and a member of the school’s wrestling team. He attended Lynn schools prior to entering Peabody High School as a freshman.

The beloved son of Joanna Peña of Peabody and Julio C. Perez of Miami, Florida, he was the grandson of Julia Peña and the late Felipe Peña of Lynn. In addition to his parents and grandmother, he is survived by his siblings, Alexis Rosario and Ashley Veras of Peabody, and Edgar, Priscilla, Debora and Joshua of Miami, Florida. He leaves behind numerous aunts and uncles: Jorge Luis and Silvia Peña, Carmen Peña, Jose and Ana Peña and Daniel Peña and beloved cousins: Allyson Wallace, Andrew Wallace, David Peña, Jonathan Peña, Gabriela and Micaela Peña, Delilah CostaRita, Sonia CostaRita Yung, Thalia CostaRita Aguiar and Marco CostaRita as well as extended family members in New York, Florida and the Dominican Republic.

A memorial service in his honor was held at Calvary Christian Church in Lynnfield.  A student-led candlelight vigil has also been planned on the Peabody Veterans Memorial High School football field on Thursday, June 23 from 8 to 10 p.m.

Ann Napolitano

East Boston resident

Ann (DiFrono) Napolitano of East Boston died on June 12.

She was the mother of Lisa of East Boston and Lori Russo and her husband, Michael, of Winthrop; cherished daughter of the late Alfonso “Boonzie” and Josephine DiFronzo; dear sister of  Leonard DiFronzo and his wife, Marsha, of Virginia and is also survived by two loving grandchildren, Nicole Cvijie and her husband, Ranko, of Revere and Michael A. of Winthrop and one  loving great granddaughter, Gabriella. She was the devoted cousin of Diane Tiro and her husband, Dennis, of Lynn.

Russell King Jr.

Worked for GE

Russell E. King Jr. of Revere died on June 12.

A US Army Vietnam veteran and a graduate of Revere High School, he was a member of the Saugus VFW, Revere American Legion and a former employee of GE of Lynn.

Born in Revere, he was the son of the late Russell and Thelma (Bagnulo) King; the beloved husband of the late Joanne (Lancia); devoted father of Diana LeBlanc and her husband, Paul, and Russell King III; loving grandfather of Cynthia, Kaitlyn, Stephen and Justin, all of Lynn; dear brother of Adrienne King of Wrentham and is also survived by many loving cousins.
