Mary ‘Yvonne’ Goodwin

Of Florida, formerly of East Boston

Mary (LeBlanc) Goodwin of Kissimmee, Florida, formerly of East Boston, died on July 20.

She was the beloved wife of the late John R. Goodwin, Sr. of Kissimmee, Florida,  mother of John Goodwin. Jr.

and his wife, Lorianne of Revere, the late Corrinne Goodwin of Florida, James Goodwin and his wife, Debora of Lynn, Joseph Goodwin of Florida, Jeffery Goodwin of East Boston, the late Mark Goodwin of East Boston, Christopher Goodwin and his wife, Moonika of Florida and Michael Goodwin and his wife, Charlene of East Boston. She was the sister of Donna Lima Santilli of East Boston and the late John Lima of California. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Norman Soucy

Former Liberty Tree Mall Security Manager

Norman P. Soucy of Nahant, formerly of Lynn, died on July 17 at the Mass. General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. He was 75 years old.

Born in Lynn, the son of the late Thomas A. and Florence K. (Jones) Soucy, he graduated from Lynn English High School and lived in Lynn for most of his life. He then lived in Nahant for over 20 years.

He served in the U. S. Army for six years and then served in the U. S. Air Force for six years, retiring as a  Sergeant in 1973. He worked for Liberty Tree Mall as a security manager and was a friend of Bill W.

He leaves a brother, Thomas D. Soucy and his wife, Mary of Lynn; a sister, Dorothy Maguire of Nahant and several nieces and nephews.  He was also the brother of the late Rodney Soucy and Robert Soucy.

John Sordillo

Ran Real Estate Investment Business

John V. Sordillo of Lynn, formerly of Revere, died peacefully on July 16 with his family at his side. He was 90 years old.

Mr. Sordillo was born October 5, 1921. He grew up in Revere, was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1939 and a US Navy veteran who served in the Pacific theater during World War II.  He graduated from Wentworth Institute in Boston.

After his marriage to Phyllis (Welsh) in 1949, he moved to Lynn where he raised his four daughters.  He worked for many years at General Electric in Lynn before leaving in 1964 to start his own Real Estate Investment business.  He retired from the business in 1997.  He enjoyed ballroom dancing with Phyllis at Wonderland and various other ballrooms and also enjoyed time spent with his large extended family.  John was an avid New England Patriot’s football fan, both in the good times and the lean times.

He was the husband of the late Phyllis (Welsh) Sordillo and the son of the late Frank and Mildred (Sollitto) Sordillo of Revere.  He is survived by four daughters:  Diane Reilly and her husband, William, of Lynn, Donna Vecchione and her husband, Paul of Topsfield, Debra Sordillo of Boston and Denise Powell and her husband, Austin of Swampscott; seven grandchildren: William Reilly and his wife, Katarina, Bryan Reilly and his wife, Kelly, John Vecchione and his fiancée, Maria Braccio and Michael Vecchione, Austin, Olivia and Elizabeth Powell; four great grandchildren:  Emma, Colin, Finnegan and Dashiell Reilly; his sisters, Marie Cecconi, wife of the late Greg of Costa Mesa, California, Dorothy Hayes and her husband, Richard of Revere and his brother, Vincent and his wife, Claire of Greenville, RI.  He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, grandnephews and grandnieces.

Funeral arrangements were by the Solimine, Landergan & Richardson Funeral Home, Lynn. Burial was in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
