A huge crowd packed the city’s Democratic Unity breakfast at the Porthole Restaurant early Sunday morning.
Congressman John Tierney, State Treasurer Steve Grossman and our state delegation – State Senator Tom McGee and State Representatives Robert Fennell and Steve Walsh – headlined the event, which drew all of the candidates for the US Senate seat, including Harvard professor Elizabeth Warren.
The breakfast actually served as a forum to introduce six candidates running for the seat now held by Republican Senator Scott Brown.
Tom Conroy, Marisa DeFranco, Alan Khazei, James King, Herbert Robinson and Warren all attended the breakfast meeting.
Each of the candidates mingled with the crowd and made short remarks.
Also present were an abundance of local candidates running for city council and for the school committee.
