Ernest Therrien
Eastern Bank Retiree, All Star Pitcher, Semi Pro Football Player, Avid Environmentalist and Fisherman
Ernest V. Therrien of Lynn died March 9 at the Life Care Center of the North Shore after a brief illness. He was 75 years old.
Born in Lynn, the son of the late Philip J. and Irene M. (Gagne) Therrien and the husband of the late Jean H. (Masilewski) Therrien, he was an outstanding All Star pitcher for St. Jean’s Baseball Team and a starting Lineman for the Black Knights, a Lynn Semi-Pro Football Team. He was also an avid environmentalist and fisherman, often giving advice to many who saw him. He was a US Army veteran who served during the Korean War and was a long time employee and retiree of Eastern Bank.
He is survived by his brother in law Dr. William and his wife, Carol Wasilewski of Reading. He was the father of the late Steven Therrien and the brother of the late Philip J. Jr. and Francis J. Therrien.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Nadworny Funeral Home, 798 Western Avenue, Lynn today, Tuesday, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church at 10:30 a.m. Cremation in Harmony Grove Crematory, Salem and private burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
