The North Shore Latino Business Association held its Second Anniversary Gala Sunday night at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem.
Two hundred guests attended the celebration of the organization that is headquartered in Lynn and led by executive director and founder Frances Martinez. The organization has 203 members, many from the Latino business community in Lynn.
Lynn Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy, City Council President Timothy Phelan, State Rep. Robert Fennell, Congressman John Tierney, and Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce chairman David Solimine Jr. were among the dignitaries who addressed the gathering during the speaking program.
Martinez was excited about the capacity crowd and the presence of city leaders from Lynn and Salem.
“It makes me feel very proud that the work we have done is being noticed and that they’re impressed as well,” said Martinez. “The speeches were excellent. They did a great job. Obviously they’re very connected in terms of what we’re doing, because they mentioned a lot of things that are happening with our organization.”
