As Thanksgiving approaches My Brother’s Table is running a Thanksgiving Gift Card drive. My Brother’s Table is asking for donations of gift cards to local grocery stores so that turkeys and trimmings can be purchased for families in need in our community. This year the Table is asking for gift cards rather than turkeys to assist with storage and transportation issues that arise when hundreds of very large and heavy turkeys are donated.
My Brother’s Table, the North Shore’s largest soup kitchen located in Lynn, will serve a free Thanksgiving brunch from 11:00 am-1:00pm and a traditional Thanksgiving dinner from 1:00pm-4:15pm on November 26th. At least 30 turkeys will be used at these meals alone. Additional turkeys will be used to make meals to be distributed through My Brother’s Table’s Dinner Shuttle program, a meal delivery program for homebound individuals.
Gift cards can be mailed to My Brother’s Table, 98 Willow St., Lynn or dropped off during office hours 9:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday.
Since 1982, My Brother’s Table has served over 3 million meals to people in need, in all kinds of weather, during years of economic ups and downs. My Brother’s Table receives no government funding and is not a United Way affiliate. Instead, it relies on the generosity of individuals and corporate donations.
