Leona Fields

Of Woburn, formerly of Lynn

Leona M. “Lee” (Mondon) Fields of Woburn, died peacefully on Sept. 10.

She was the beloved wife of over 46 years to the late John W. R. Fields, Sr., Late Patrolman, Woburn Police Dept., until his passing in 2001.

Born and raised in Lynn, Leona was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ethel (Bowser) Mondon. She was a graduate of Lynn English High School.

For many years, Lee worked for the Choate Hospital. She later worked for Aberjona Nursing home in the pay roll office, until her retirement. 

Lee enjoyed spending time with her family, and in younger years, going camping and enjoying the outdoors together. She was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots Fan who enjoyed finishing 1000-piece puzzles. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. 

She was the devoted mother of Patrolman Steven S. Fields, Winchester P.D. and his wife, Kelly of Woburn and the late John W.R. Fields, Jr. of Florida; grandmother of Gianna Fields, John W.R. Fields III and the late Brooke Fields, and great-grandmother of Marcus Fields. 

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Leona’s Funeral Mass on Wednesday, September 16  at 10 a.m., in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.   Relatives and friends are invited to  briefly  pay their respects on Tuesday, September 15th from 4-7 p.m. at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn.
